First Impressions/ Layout

Hi Dretta! I'm so sorry it took so long to get this review done. Hopefully you will find this helpful anyway! So on with the review!

Wow, a lot of people are doing Twilight layouts. This layout is ok. It's not centered, which layouts always should be. Because your layout is to the left it leaves too much white space on the right. Your CSS is exactly the same as your last layout which really makes me wish that I hadn't lost the other review I wrote. I guess I will have to try and remember. First, why is your CSS exactly the same as your other layout? Do you just make a new header and keep everything else the same? A bit lazy in my opinion and also limits what your layout can look like. I also don't understand why your content and your sidebar are different colors. Are they supposed to be? Checking in Internet Explorer they are the same color. You should change the coding for your content area so that it looks the same in all browsers. FYI: I like the grey background better though. The colors of your layout are pretty drab and boring. Have you ever used a fun color like yellow or pink for your layout? I think that would be really cute.

Graphics- Bakgrounds

These are actually really cute. My favorites would have to be lightening bolts and the stripes.

Graphics- Blends

I like how you've provided all the information about the graphic but I think that some of the thumbnails do not provide a sufficient preview. For instance in the thumbnail for 'Spunkeh Mileh' you can't even see Miley.

Graphics- Emoticons

These are cute, I really like them. But I don't think that it's practical for these to be on white backgrounds. Make them transparent. Not many owners are going to want to use emoticons that are not transparent, especially if their backgrounds are not white since the white background on your emoticons will show. My favorite of these are probably the last set 'My Friend Blueberry'.

Graphics- Icons

Did you make all these icons? If so wow, good for you. Wait, looking at the Harry Potter icons you couldn't have made these. I'm seeing two Potter Puppet Pals icons that I used to have saved to my hard drive about 4 or 5 years ago. If you did not make these then why are you requesting that your visitors give you credit? Because you coded them? That hardly seems fair to the original icon maker. You haven't even stated that you did not make these.

Graphics- Signs

These previews are way too small. In the introduction for these you state that the visitor can click on the title and view an image in the set. This apparently isn't true since I tried clicking on the title and nothing came up. Also, the images in both of the Keira Knightly sets and the Kate Nash set have either been moved or deleted because they do not show up when I put them in my browser to see the full size image.

Layouts- Myspace

These thumbnails are again way too small. I would have liked to be able to click on the thumbnail and see a full sized screencap of the layout. Also, the last two layouts on this page do not have thumbnails and the header for "Glitzy Pink" does not match the rest on this page.

Resources- Brushes

These are ok. Did you draw the flowers in the 'Hand Drawn Flowers' brushes? If so, great job. I love the hand drawn rose.

Resources- Icon Textures

I like these. These are very nice. Nothing bad to say about these.

Resources- Textures

These are nice as well. I can't say I would use them but I like them just the same.

Site- About Dretta

Before I get to this section, why are the links on this page in a different format that the links on the content section? They should all be in the same format so as to create a fluidity and consistancy about your website. So this section is nice. I see your birthday is coming up, Happy Early Birthday! Your only 11 and you have your own website? That's amazing. I don't think I even knew how to turn a computer on when I was 11. This page looks good but there are a few spelling errors. Under TV Shows it's "Addam's Family" not "Adam's Family", "Degrassi The Next Generation" should be "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" should be "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".

Graphics

Your graphics are nice however going back over your blends and wallpapers again I notice they all have the same look and feel. They are all very dark, drab, and kind of just the same. I would like to see you try something different. Ditch the grungy texture for once and try making a blend that is bright and really colorful and fun.

It's really hard to make a website unique, whatever the kind of website it is. In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not really sure what kind of website yours is. Judging by the amount of visitor content you have I'm assuming it is a graphics site. That being said, it's very hard to make a graphics site unique.

Updates

I don't know how many times you update because your updates are not present. I'm seeing a black background and what looks like a file manager? Did someone hack your cutenews? Looking at this I'm seeing that you still have your search.php file. This creates a huge security risk. If you decide to reinstall cutenews as your blogging and update system make sure you delete the search.php file.

Your color scheme is kind of boring. Like I said before the CSS is the same as your last layout. I strongly encourage you to inject color into your layout and CSS. It would benefit you greatly.

Overall/ Final Thoughts

Your website is okay. Brighten your colors! Staying on your website for a while has brought my mood down, which is definietely not a good thing. Fix your blogging/updating system pronto. You do not want the first thing that your visitors see to be something wrong with your website. Make some blends that have color as well. Blends that are fun and colorful are more likely to be used by a visitor than drab blends that all look the same. I suggest you put more of yourself into your website. By this I mean to add more content about you. You said that you enjoy taking pictures. Why not show them off and put them on your website. I would have loved to see them. Things like that can make a big difference and make your website a little more personal. Good luck with your website!
